Have you checked in with your tummy
Have you checked in with your tummy, to see if it talks to you
Maybe it is hungry, or maybe it needs to poo
Have you checked in with your looking eyes, and looked around the room
Peak outside for rainbows, or a bear in a canoe
Have you checked in with your listening* ears, and heard a truck drive by
Maybe it's a fireman, sirens shouting in the night
Have you checked in with your chest, and taken a deep healing breath
It can slow you down, before you make another mess
Have you checked in with your smelling nose, and smelled the smelly smells
Maybe dinner is ready, or a new rain just fell
Have you checked in with your brilliant brain, and thought about your needs
It knows words and numbers, but forgets you need some sleep
Have you checked in with your big heart, and asked it you how you feel
Maybe it needs some hugs, silly tickles, or a meal
Have you checked in with your grabbing hands, or moved around your wrists
They can point and draw and wave, and even make a fist
Have you checked in with your feet, and thanked them for all they do
Maybe they feel the grass or maybe they need some shoes
It's easy to play until you crash but self care is easy and fast
So please check in on your needs. Only you can tell when you feel complete.
